THAILAND - Hill Tribes Trek
We spent 3 days in the hills north of Chiang Mai staying in the villages of the Lisu and Dala Ang people. Like most things in Thailand tours are very 'touristic'. There really is no such thing as a remote hike to authentic hilltribe villages. You could almost better describe this tour as a shopping tour. Every 'village' we passed through we were surrounded by opportunistic elderly women and children selling their handicrafts. Despite this we still had a great time riding the elephant and bamboo rafting down the river and met some fun people from Germany and Israel.

THAILAND - Chiang Mai
A laid back city in the north of Thailand. We took the opportunity to learn how to cook up some of the spicy, authentic local cuisine. We did our last spot of shopping in the markets here before posting three massive boxes full of goodies back home. Its going to be like Christamas when we get back! At the last minute James dashed back to the already closed post office and convinced the frustrated staff to allow him to retrieve a stash of pirated DVD's which we thought may come under the spotlight of Australian customs officials.

We found a great little road side stall coking up some awesome noodles. This became our regular late night snack joint for tranny spotting and baby elephant visits - only in Thailand!
