INDIA - Deep in the Markha Valley, day 6&7 of trek.

Most amazing sight would probably have to be an elderly man walking between 'villages' with the assistance of a cane!!! when we passed him we were at least 1 1/2 hours from anywhere.

The Laddakhi people are all so friendly. Their kindness and smiling faces made the hike
especially memorable.

Markha Valley Trek - Day 4 & 5. After conquering our first pass we were rewarded with a couple of days of pleasant hiking through the luscious valley floor surrounded by the stark and arid mountains. Met some cool characters along the way.

Markha Valley Trek - Beginning of our 8 day adventure. Following are some photos of the first 2 days which culminated to the crossing of the first pass of the hike, Ganda La (4,920m), on the morning of day 3. We were fortunate to have delayed crossing the pass on day 2. Instead of facing heavy hail and clouds we were rewarded with a great view into the valley. Never mind the bit of snow fall we had on the way down.
