INDIA - Darjeeling
Darjeeling is a beautiful tea station in the north east of India and the gateway to the Singalila National Park. The trip to Darjeeling all the way from Varnasi was a marathon one. Starting with a one hour auto rickshaw ride to the train station, an overnight train journey (which we later found out to be one of the most risky as it passes through Bihar, the poorest and one of the most dangerous states of India - explains the lack of fellow tourists on the train) to New Jaipalguri, another 30 minute rickshaw ride finally followed by a 3 hr jeep ride up to the hillstation. Our gruelling journey didnt end there, we had one final slog staggering up to almost the highest point in the town.

INDIA
Taj Mahal

The impenetrable Red Fort, where there once were crocs in the moat, tigers and lions roaming the first wall of defence and a crazed moghul warrior waiting to crush any invader who managed to scale the final wall.
