THAILAND - Kanchanaburi

A time of reflection, remembering the cobbers who were taken as POW's and kept in brutal camp conditions. They were forced to build the railway line to Burma and the Bridge over the River Kwai, the critical supply route for the Japanese. The bridge which claimed the lives of thousands of diggers over its years of construction was destroyed in a moment only months after its completion in an aerial bomb raid.

It wasn't all sombre. We visited the pretty Erawan Falls where we chilled out for a day. Our raft house had great views over the River Kwai where we spent countless hour chilling out and recovering from Christmas celebrations.
